No-one did low-key glamour more gracefully than Audrey Hepburn. Whether suited in Givenchy or eating Breakfast at Tiffany’s in a ball gown, her look was all about effortless elegance.
She wore sleek lines and bold or monochromatic colour schemes and was always groomed to perfection. Whilst we can’t all look as gorgeous as the divine miss H, we can all recreate one of her most classic looks.
In Funny Face and Roman Holiday, as well as in real life, Audrey channeled the Beat poets of the 1950s by teaming black ballet flats with a polo neck and cigarette pants.
It’s a look that is still classic today, but make it more modern (and appropriate for the British weather) by swapping the Capri’s for skinny jeans and adding coloured ballet flats to jazz things up, classy and comfortable.
