If you’re feeling sad from the onset of the winter blues, and fancy getting your hands on some stunning shoes to cheer yourself up - while doing your bit for charity at the same time - head on down to the Barnardo’s Vintage Shoe Boutique on London’s Broadwick Street.
Generous celebrities such as Peaches Geldof and The Sugababes donated much envied footwear as did Holly Willoughby with a pair of her signed polka dot wellies. Geri Halliwell was next in line donating heels she wore on the last Spice Girls tour. Other celebrity contributors include Twiggy, Dame Helen Mirren, Joanna Lumley and Mary Portas (Mary Queen of Shops) who gave a signed pair of Stuart Weitzman sandals.
Demand is likely to be pretty high so the sale is only open until December 1st, so elbows at the ready girls! All the funds raised from this glamorous shoe sale will be put towards the important work that Barnardo’s does for disadvantaged children in the UK, so you can tell yourself that any shoe purchases are entirely justifiable.
You might even be lucky enough to grab yourself a pair of blue sequinned Louboutins, brand spanking new and donated by the man himself, so there is certainly some A list footwear on offer.
As well as the fun of this latest celebrity sale, Barnardo’s are looking for more donations of shoes and accessories, so if you have any gorgeous shoes that you just can’t wear any more, and you’d like to see them go to a good cause, drop them in to your local Barnardo’s shop and mark the items ‘Carnaby St’. All shoes donated must be in good condition – this isn’t a jumble sale, darling!
The store also plans to stock vintage and retro handbags - so do your bit for charity and buy more shoes…
