Heel size predicts Credit Crunch effect as stiletto-mania kicks in

Economists may have found a new way of predicting the full extent of the economic downturn. According to a report in The Sun, economic forecasts are out, and “heel size analysis” is in!

Skyscraper heels have not been in vogue since the last Great Depression of the 1930s, and 2009 is set to be the Year of the Stiletto.

It’s no coincidence that as the Credit Crunch is strangling the High Street, A-listers and celebs across the globe have been gracing the red carpet with their spiky heels. As debt rises, so does heel size…

From Kate Hudson’s beautiful two-tone Guiseppi Zanotti stilettos to Micsha Barton’s bizarre Dior fertility statue heels, which definitely raised a few eyebrows, killer heels are making a comeback. And who could forget Victoria Beckhams’ legendary love of skyscraper heels?

It’s not just on the red carpet where the statuesque shoes are being spotted, it’s in the home as well.

TV presenter Holly Willoughby admitted to Glamour magazine that she loves to wear her stilettos in bed, and Lady GaGa recently professed her love of cooking in nothing but her undies and a great pair of sexy shoes!
Even Super Group U2 have released a new single “Get on your boots’ as an ode to the grand stiletto.

And frankly, we’re waiting with baited breath for Christian Louboutin’s 8-inch super heels to hit the shops!

But here at Shudoo.co.uk we never miss a trick. Check out the stunning Terry deHallivand Aries Bronze heels, or (coming in at a healthy 4.5 inches) the Steve Madden patent black Vulture shoe boot.

Maybe using heel size as an economic predictor is a case of “2 + 2 = 5”, but we don’t care, it gave us an excuse to look at some of the best killer heels of recent history!
