The Paris premier of Charlize Theron’s new movie, The Burning Plain, saw her towering over fellow celebs on the red carpet.
At 5ft 10in the South African-American actress teetered down the red carpet at 6ft 3in wearing five-inch Christian Dior heels dwarfing her director Guillermo Arriaga as well as co-stars.
Charlize doesn’t usually have trouble standing out from the crowd, but she made certain that she wouldn’t fade into the background with these killer heels.
Her black snakeskin shoes with a gold heel cost an eye-watering £400 and drew attention to her fish tattoo on her ankle.
We can’t decide which was more eye-catching, her footwear or her metallic Lanvin dress? The 33-year-old star finished off her look with a satin clutch from Roger Vivier and rings from Neil Lane Jewelry.
It seems her Dior heels proved rather difficult to walk in judging by her uncomfortable stance whilst having photo’s taken, perhaps she should have took some lessons from the Queen of sky-high heels, Mrs Victoria Beckham.
However unlike Mrs Beckham we’re glad to see that Charlize keeps her towering heels for special occasions, as experts have warned that shoes of this height push the body out of alignment and place strain on the knees, ouch!
In Theron’s new movie, The Burning Plain, she plays a woman who attempts to form a bond with her mother (Kim Basinger) after a troubled up-bringing.
Judging by the height of her heels we think it’s less of ‘The Burning Plain’ and more of ‘The Burning Pain’ on the balls of her feet!
They’re called ‘killer’ heels for a reason ladies…
