In the run up to Christmas we all like to bag a bargain, but as shoppers race to buy discounted products Police crackdown on hundreds of websites selling fake Ugg boots!

We all know how tempting it can be when you see this season’s must-have UGG® Australia boots at prices which are impossible to beat.

However, remember the old saying… if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!

The Metropolitan Police have revealed that buying using these sites have either been sent counterfeit boots or have not received their order at all!

We love hearing your stories; here are a few of our reader’s experiences –

“I purchased a pair of ‘Sheep skin’ winter boots from Ebay and thought the texture was a bit hard. Over a couple months of normal wear the ’sheepskin’ seems to have flattened, and has bald patches and even comes off in my hands.” Jacky

“I brought some from a market trader and the sheepskin came away and looked awful and the heels went all soggy, which was not good when I was walking and completely slipped/tripped as the heel was all out of place! NEVER buy an imitation; I am saving hard for a genuine pair, which will be purchased from Shudoo -!” Carrie

So there you have it, it you want the real McCoy’s get saving, they’re worth every penny!

  • Hi there Aimee,
Have you checked on UGG Australia’s official website that the site you purchased from are listed on there?

  • I found the facility to check if a company sells genuine UGG Australia boots invaluable, it’s where I discovered Shudoo and recently purchased a pair of Bailey boots which are perfect gorgeous. I have in the past bought other well known brands of sheepskin boots but none compare to the fit, comfort and look of genuine UGGs.

  • I bought a pair of classic black ugg bootsfrom a site called http://www.uggbootstore.net. Waited over 2 weeks for them not knowing weather real or fake but after just over 3 weeks wear the sole has worn down on both sides of the shoe went into the Office and purchased a real pair. Dont but from sites in china. Company will not reply to any of my e-mails. Lesson learnt but proper will cost alot but at least they are the real deal.

  • Purchased Ugg Boots from go4ugg.com, seemed legitimate website, pictures, information, ect. Ordered on 12/09/09, didn’t receive unitl 12/26/09, and they are fake. I contacted company on 12/20/09 and then realized they were based in China, communication was in broken English, and would not work with me for refund on shipping when promised delivery by 12/24/09. BEWARE of fake website! By from legitimate webites.

  • Avoid uggretailer.org. 3 weeks & still waiting for boots. No emails responded to, plus two different courier companies mentioned on the site. Transaction number doesn’t work as tracking number for either courier. I have low expectations of seeing anything.

  • Have been doing some research. UGG is a generic name for any Australia made sheepskin boots; so if sheepskin and made in Australia they can apparently be called UGG The American company Decker who makes the more expensive UGG\’s and own stores have got the trademark for UGG\’s made outside Australia.. They actually make their products in China too. So confusing! I don\’t like fakes or being ripped off.

  • Just got some of these off ebay and realised they were fake and have raised a dispute with the seller, but she genuinely thought they were real - turns out she brought them from myuggboots100.com. the seller is gutted as am I, I have today received an email from a David Zhang to say they are 100% genuine and can’t believe the balls to lie about them being REAL!! …. if only his site could be investigated - I have also emailed Ugg Australia to see if they want to follow this up!!

  • Bought some last year where they guaranteed they were genuine, total fakes and tried to get a refund, ended up the charges for return to China outweighed the price of the £60 fake Ugg Boots! Tried to get back from Paypal with no luck, the site disappeared but it has set back up now as they had the cheek to send me an email with a £3 offer code. Originally they were:
    http://www.buyuggbootsonline.co.uk
    and now
    http://www.shoesonsalenow.com/
    Beware!!

  • I have been scammed also with fake uggs. Has anyone any ideas how I can get a report confirming they are fake? all the retailers I have tried refuse to give me a letter on headed paper which is required by my credit card company.
    Thank you.

  • Hi all, i always do my research when buying anything on the net…there is so much information out there.

Now i have a wife and a daughter who were both after UGG boots….there are loads of websites that are selling ‘genuine’ UGG boots. Now UGG is not really a brand name, just a term that comes from HUGG ( the way they hug your feet ) BE WARY of all these sites, some mention UK UGG boots, UGG austrailia etc etc….first thing when you come across a site is to check for reviews….then go to http://www.whois.net... this site tells you where and who created the site…the UK UGG site i came across was actually formed in China….fake ring a bell anyone..?

If they say Genuine, dont fall for it…i know it’s an old saying but if it looks too good to be true…it usually is.

    Genuine UGGs go for 190+

So check here first to be sure the whois details look ok.

I know it may seem cheap but you gonna end up getting a fake pair that you wont be happy with, forget about a refund as well. So all in all…dont bother…i am gonna find a list of the fake sites and post them here

  • I too have just been conned by the makers of fake UGG boots in China, website said they were based in Australia. I have sent several emails to the two email addresses I have but so far have not had a reply. I have also emailed Trading Standards and am waiting for a response from them My credit card company have also raised this as a consumer dispute and I am, with there help trying to get a refund. The site i got my boots from was http://www.uggsbootsstore.com. Please do not get conned by sale offers my boots cost me £85.00 which is not low enough to ring alarm bells. i have a fab pair of real UGG boots and they cost me £120.00, I thought it was a genuine sale for UGG boots. Oh if only!!

  • I bought some boots from http://www.deckkeruggboot.com. They arrived from CHINA, 3 sizes too small, totally FAKE, stinking of laquer, fluff falling out. Contacted company and they said they would refund me if i sent the boots back. I did this over 3 weeksago, and now they are ignoring all my emails and have not refunded me my £70 odd! Do not order from them!!!!

  • Sorry typo, address is http://www.deckeruggboot.com

  • I bought a pair last year from http://www.uk-ugg-boots.com and they looked like the real deal. No signs of glue, lining fur looked good, came with embossed packaging etc. They were a bit small for me so I ordered a second pair which also arrived promptly. Perfect fit, same good quality.
My mum asked me to get her a pair which I ordered before Xmas. No sign of them ever and inspite of numerous e mails and their initial response that they’d refund to me, I’m still waiting for my money. And now my boots are falling apart, tho I did wear them every day from October til March. I was stupid to believe they’d be genuine but I’ve still had more wear out of them than some “good” high street leather winter boots!

  • uggs.me - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS ‘COMPANY’. THEY SELL FAKES AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING 4 MONTHS FOR A REFUND.
